What is MetaboTip?

Metabognostics introduces a new sweat sampling device – Metabotip – for human biomonitoring that empowers healthcare providers and practitioners in diagnosing complex diseases in an individualized approach.

Sweat Analysis:

Sweat is a surprisingly rich source for determining metabolic parameters and emerges as an ideal biofluid for diagnosis. Sweat is constantly secreted by dedicated glands on the skin surface all over the body. However, these glands are particularly frequent on the palms of the hand and the fingertips. The sweat composition is highly dynamic and responsive to physiologicalpathological processes. Sweat analysis is therefore a powerful approach to determine metabolic parameters that are involved in disease and/or dysbiosis. Our unique normalization strategy adjusts for variations in sweat quantity and dilution, allowing accurate comparisons of individual metabolites to reference values and enhancing the predictive power of the analysis.

Sweat Sampling

Sweat collection is completely non-invasive and simple. In contrast to blood-based tests, Metabotip does not require professional personnel. Minute amounts of sweat from the fingertip are sufficient for accurate and precise determination of metabolic parameters.

How does it work?

Simple, Quick, and Completely Non-Invasive:

Getting started with our metabolic health service is as easy as it gets.

Here’s how:

  1. Receive Your Sample Kit:Your physician will provide you with a personalized sampling plan and sample kit.
  2. Prepare for Sampling: Wash your hands with lukewarm water (Do not use soap!) and gently dry them with a one-way paper towel. Wait for one minute.
  3. Collect Your Sample:
  • Remove the sampling unit from the container.
  • Place it between the tips of your thumb and index finger.
  • Apply pressure for one minute, squeezing the unit about 10 times.
  • Return the sampling unit to the container and securely close the lid.
  1. Storing Your Sample:
    • Keep it at room temperature for up to 1 day.
    • Store at 4°C for up to a week.
    • Freeze at -20°C for longer storage.
  2. Deliver Your Sample: Bring your sample to your physician, who will handle the analysis process with Metabognostics. No cooling is needed during transport.

Fast and Accurate Results: Your physician will receive the results from the finger sweat analysis, enabling a deeper understanding of your metabolic health.

Wash hands with luke warm water without (!) soap

Gently dry hands with a paper towel.

Wait for one minute – do not touch anything during this time.

Remove the sampling unit from the container.

Place sampling unit between the lips of your thumb and index finger. Children can use their thumb, index finger or middle finger. Apply pressure for one minute, squezing the unit about 10 times.

Return the sampling unit to the container and securely close the lid.

Benefits of Metabotip:

  • Low cost
  • Metabotip delivers an extensive range of molecular information at a fraction of the costs compared to other techniques.
  • Non-Invasive
  • The sampling procedure is completely non-invasive, eliminating risks and discomfort during sample collection. No specialized medical or paramedical personnel is required.
  • Individual Metabolic Parameters
  • Metabotip collects metabolic parameters of individuals and allows for personalized diagnostics.
  • Convenient Sampling
  • Sweat collection from fingertips is simple, fast and does not require specialized training.
  • No Sweat Stimulation
  • Unlike methods that require induced sweating, Metabotip analyzes natural, unstimulated sweat, thereby avoiding potential biases.
  • Comprehensive Profiling
  • Unlike methods that focus on a few pre-selected metabolites, Metabotip provides a holistic view by detecting over 600 metabolites in a single sample, covering both endogenous and exogenous compounds.
  • Time Series Analysis
  • Metabotip supports dynamic analysis, allowing for the study of metabolic responses to various challenges—such as physical exercise, dietary changes, toxin exposure, or stress. It enables frequent sampling to track changes over time and identify individual disorders, disease predispositions and prevention strategies.
  • Enhanced Sensitivity
  • Metabotip metabolite analysis is more sensitive than blood or saliva tests due to minimal matrix effects in sweat, resulting in precise measurements with lower coefficients of variation.
  • Minimal Sample volume
  • Metabotip uses tiny amounts of sweat (about 100nL) for detailed analysis, achieving robust results even with these small sample volumes. The technique is sensitive enough to detect metabolites in the sub-picogram range.

Who can use it?

The Metabotip technology is available through healthcare providers and practitioners in different fields. Healthcare professionals and practitioners looking to integrate non-invasive metabolic diagnostics into their practice will find Metabotip an essential tool.

In addition it useful for anyone who would like to understand metabolic health, individuals/schools/companies/organization who are interested in ensuing the increasing health.
